When one of your favorite wedding planners gets engaged, you already know the wedding is going to be something unforgettable. But before the “I dos,” we had the absolute honor of photographing Alexis & Sam’s Engagement Portraits at Virgin Hotels Dallas, and it was every bit as stylish and fun as we imagined.
If you know Alexis, you know she is the creative force behind Karis Concepts, crafting some of the most stunning events in Dallas. We’ve had the joy of working alongside her on countless projects, so when she asked us to photograph her own wedding, it was one of those pinch-me moments. There’s no bigger compliment than being trusted with such an important chapter in the life of someone whose work you admire.
We took full advantage of everything Virgin Hotels Dallas has to offer- shooting in its sleek, light-filled spaces, making use of bold architectural details, and finding little pockets of color and texture that gave each frame its own character. From the rooftop views to the modern lounge areas, every corner gave us something fresh and unexpected.
To wrap the session, we stepped out into the city and ended at The Meteor Dallas, where Alexis and Sam shared a beer and some pizza. It was the perfect way to capture them in their element—laid-back, laughing, and completely themselves. We love delivering those editorial, high-fashion shots that make a statement, but just as much, we love capturing authentic moments that show our couples exactly as they are.
