Sydney & Ian are one of the cutest and quirkiest couples that we have worked with. They really share a special joy and uniqueness together. The overall theme of their wedding was “adventure” & “woodsy.” They carried that theme throughout every aspect of their ceremony and reception for Sydney & Ian New Orleans Whimsical Winter Woodland Wedding.
Sydney’s mom loved being involved in the planning of her big day. Although mom and daughter have slightly different taste on things, they did a great job meshing ideas to bring Sydney’s dream wedding to fruition. The result could not have been any more magical!
Sydney, from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Ian, from Warwick, Rhode Island, met at Tulane Graduate School orientation. Sydney recalls that she “couldn’t talk to him the whole orientation because he was too cute.”
After grad school, the couple went on an epic road trip covering 13 states, and 5 national parks. Needless to say, this couple loves adventuring and the outdoors. They moved around a lot, until they each got public health jobs in Boston. “We go camping a lot” Sydney says.
The Chicory was the venue for Sydney & Ian New Orleans Whimsical Winter Woodland Wedding. The ceremony took place on the rooftop, and the interior was decorated on theme for the reception.
Verde Beauty did the bridal party’s hair and make-up for the special day.
Dee at Bella’s Blooms did all of the florals and greenery throughout the space.
Sydney wore a dress by Rebecca Schoneveld, from Wedding Belles. For a special touch, she wore antique shoes that she used to play dress up in as a kid.
The bride also drew most of the art for the couple’s invitations and stationary.
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests danced the night away to live music by the Phunky Monkeys.
The wedding cake was made by Bittersweet Confections, while Debby Does Doberge made the groom’s dough bites.
